So I'm a bandwagon rider!

I'm officially a Blood Angel player now! With the new codex (and all those amazing models) coming out soon, I've decided to give my Dark Angels a break for a while and concentrate on a new army.

To that end I am going to use Flesh Tearers! The way thy fight, very close and personal, fits my play style. I love to get in there and rip head off!

I will be playing a very spartan list on account of the Flesh Tearers being very under-equipped. Mostly just Assault Marines and Scouts in rhinos. And Gabriel Seth of course! A large death company also fits well into the fluff. Tons of troops come to think of it! For elites I am thinking at least one full slot of three Sanguinary Priests, and possibly a Librarian Dread. On the subject of the Stormraven I am torn. The thing is awesome! But being kinda equipment poor means it may not be fluffy, and I am really shooting for fluffy with this army.

Anyway... Um... That be about the post for today. I will post some pictures of my test squad soon.

Escalation League

Last week my local gaming club, Lethbridge Warhammer, started a 40k Escalation League. With a whole 16-ish (there have been a few late entries) people in the league we have quite a few players. Anyway, the league is a three month affair. The first month is 1000 points, second is 1500, and third is 2000. For the first month you have to play four games, and the rest just three games. 3 points for a win, 2 for a draw and 1 for a loss.

My leauge decided to add something into our tournament that some have found controversial. Painting points! After much deliberation ( which wasn't much, we're a pretty laid back group) we decided to include it, with a caveat. You have to paint 500 points of models, but it doesn't have to be from your army. It could even be from WFB if you really wanted. 4 points for painting and fully basing models that you are actually playing with, 2 for something not in your army, and 3 for a mix.

On to me! Usually I play Dark Angels. And this time was no different, kinda! Usually I run a mixed
green-Deathwing. But this time I am trying my hand at Ravenwing! I've used Ravenwing mixed in with a more conventional force in the past with great success. Outflanking meltas for the win! Thing with Ravenwing is that it plays very different than most marine armies. A friend of mine just started Eldar with a large amount of jetbikes so I tried channeling that in some practice games. Unfortunately I'm a bit of a Berzerker, so I usually end up very close in with my enemy. Against some armies it works, against others not so much.

Anyway my list is as follows

Sammael - 205

Ravenwing squad - 120
+3 men - 100
2x Plasma guns - 30
Power weapon -15
Atttack bike HB - 50
